The word "video format" is simple to be explained. Real video format contains two different meanings. The first is "video container format", and the second is "video coding format".

The most important point which could affect video quality is video coding format, whatever video container foramt is, 2 different video will have same quality if they have the same bitrate and same coding format.

In 2021, HEVC(h.265) is the best quality video coding format.

Resolution is a parameter used to measure the amount of data in a video frame, usually expressed as ppi (Pixel per inch).

For example, 320*180 video resolution, refers to the effective pixels in the horizontal and vertical directions. The ppi value(effective pixels) of the window is higher when the window is smaller, and the video looks more clear; when the window is enlarged, because there are not enough effective pixels to fill the window, the effective pixel ppi value drops and the video is blurred. (When zooming in, the distance between the effective pixels is enlarged, and the graphics card will fill these gaps, that is, interpolation. The pixels used in the interpolation are "false pixels" that are "guessed" based on the effective pixels' up, down, left, and right, and there is no original video information).

If two videos have the same bitrate, once you set one of them to a higher video resolution, this video quality will be lower than another.
If you want two videos to have the same video quality, once you set one of them to a higher video resolution, this video will have a higher bitrate, which also means a larger video file size.

FFrame rate(FPS): The number of pictures displayed per second. It affects the smoothness of the picture and is directly proportional to the smoothness of the picture. Frame rate larger, the picture will be smoother; Frame rate lower, the picture will be more jumpy.

If the frame rate is lower than 24 frames, the video we see will be stuck and very inconsistent. If the frame rate is higher than 24 frames, it is difficult for our human eyes to distinguish. However, if the frame rate is super high, it means more frames you watch per second, the video at this time will appear smooth and delicate.

Once you set a video with a great frame rate, the video will be smoother, and the video's bitrate will be higher.
